I am Geraldine Lloyd - artist, writer, and cancer survivor.
My columns are written for The Frederick News Post, my hometown newspaper in Frederick, Maryland.
In 1993 I was diagnosed with a squaemous cell carcinoma of the right true vocal chord. After complications from a brutal regimen of radiation, in 1995 I underwent a laryngectomy at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Seven years later (2004) I was diagnosed with Stage III lung cancer. After radiation, chemotherapy and surgery, i am in my sixth year of remission.
Both of my parents died from cancer. My columns are written to offer hope, information, and inspiration.
